Martha's Vineyard Boat Ride

Day Trip to Martha’s Vineyard

Monday we headed over to visit some long time family friends on Martha’s Vineyard. To get to Martha’s Vineyard (MV), it is an adventure! We have to drive down Cape Cod about an hour, park the car, take a 10 minute bus ride to the steamship terminal. Then we take a 45 minute boat ride to the island, THEN another 15 minute bus ride to Edgartown where our friends live. Of course we have to do it all again on the way back home. We do all this to spend a few hours on the BEAUTIFUL Vineyard! It may be a little adventure, but it is still a lot of fun!

I really thought Lennox would be into going on the “big boat” but actually, she didn’t seem that into it. She did love the bus rides however.

Here we are hanging around the boat – I find these boat rides a ton of fun. We used to go over with school and sports teams and had a blast. Lennox liked exploring too!

Once we ended the first half of our version of Planes, Trains & Automobiles, we arrived in the beautiful town of Edgartown. We were visiting our friends at their art gallery. So… an art gallery is not somewhere you want to bring a toddler! I was so nervous she would put her foot through a $20,000 painting or something! ahh! So we spend most of our time outside playing in their park, going shopping and checking out the bunnies living in the gardens.

Outside in Edgartown

I just love when the grass is so bright and green how vibrant everyting looks. Also, do you see this CUTE outfit that Lennox is wearing? Another Mudpie outfit — love!

I do miss all the pretty lush green gardens, trees, parks and historic buildings up here. You don’t see much of this down in Texas!

After having lunch, doing a little shopping and visiting, it was time to start our return home adventure. The steamship/ferry/boat, whichever you want to call it, is a fun way to see all the big yacht and sailboats. We saw one yacht that had a helicopter on it, big enough for a HELICOPTER!!  Wouldn’t it be nice to have that much money? A girl can dream!

Here is an awesome Black Dog Tall Ship:

A little taste of what I grew up around, scenes like this make me happy:

Another fun family day on vacation, right before Kyle had to head back to the land of Guns, Cowboys and Hot Summer Heat…Texas!

Mudpie is super cute! I never buy it though haha.. My mother in law gets it 40% off at her work (it’s not cheap!)
