Lennox \l(en)-nox\ is pronounced LEN-iks. It is of Scottish and Gaelic origin, and the meaning of Lennox is “with many elm trees”. Name of an influential aristocratic landowning family in Scotland in the 16th century. Lennox, a Scottish nobleman, appears in Shakespeare’s “Macbeth”.

Most people have not met someone who is named Lennox, especially a girl! The only girl Lennox that I know of is from a TV show Melissa & Joey. All the time when we tell someone new our daughters name, they ask “Like the air conditioner?” or “Like the china?” or “Like the computer system”? Haha, very funny…no! Why in the world would we do any of the above?
Lennox is a family name on Kyle’s side of the family. Usually it is a middle name and for a male but we just loved it for a girl! Lennox has been a name for many people in the Terrell family, but we specifically picked it because it was Kyle’s dads middle name. Unfortunately, John Lennox passed away before I or Lennox ever got to meet him so we wanted to name her after him.
So, yes Lennox is a girl, no she isn’t named after an air conditioner, and we will never find anything with her name on it!!

I was just reading your Who Are We? page and thinking how much I love your daughter’s name, then I popped over and saw this!
I think it is adorable. My daughter’s first name, Addison, is the last name of one set of my great grandparents (my step mother’s grandparents). I thought it was so beautiful, and it meant something to our family. In the end, I think that is what matters most

I love the name Lennox! It’s one of the first things I noticed when I found your blog. It’s unique but perfect for a little girl! And I think it’s great when names honor a special family member. We named all three of ours after family members and I love that their names have a story.

My husband and I are expecting our second baby and if it’s a girl, her name is going to be Lennox. I absolutely love it! Our first daughter’s name is Quinn and my name is Kyle (I’m the mom)-I am very used to weird looks and sometimes strange comments from people and have already had people say the same things you mentioned when I tell them the name choices for this baby! We are struggling with coming up with the perfect middle name to go with Lennox so out of curiousity, what is your Lennox’s middle name? You have great taste in names! : )
