It was one of those nights…

Remembering the witching hour when your baby was little?  Well, it returned to the Terrell family tonight.

You guys? I was that mom in the store this afternoon. You know the one that everyone is looking at because their kid is kicking and screaming in the middle of the store? The quiet store! The one running down the aisle as mommy chases after. The one that after she gets scooped up struggles, yells, and tries to hit mommy. Yup… That was Lennox and I.

I threatened to leave…nothing. I told her she couldn’t have her toy that we picked out…. nothing. She just kept being really naughty! So… I put back our items and left the store. I know that anyone who has ever had a kid, could sympathize with me, but it was still embarrassing when you have to be in that situation! Oh well…right? Kids will be kids!!

I had hoped that would be the worse part of the evening, but it just continued on the rest of the night… of course it’s the night when I’m home without Kyle. Needless to say, I was happy when bedtime rolled around. I love this little girl to pieces, but sometimes she makes me so frustrated! Three will be better right? Yeah…. didn’t think so 😉

Awwww. That sounds hard! I know my husband was always at work during my sons witching hour. So hard to handle yourself! Could she be going thru. Growth spurt or not feeling well?

I really think she was just tired. She hasn’t been napping well at school during the day, so some days she is just cranky. I now remember why I don’t usually go to the store with her!

Aww hang in there! My toddler gets out-of-control cranky too when he’s sleepy, hungry, bored, etc. I wish I had better advice but I feel your pain and this too shall pass 🙂

I’m glad I’m not alone!! Sometimes I feel bad that I just want her to go to bed because soon she will be an even bigger girl and I should cherish these moments.. But sometimes I just can’t deal with it anymore.

I’ve had to take the cart to customer service more than once and state “I’m sorry I have to leave and can’t purchase these today” and walked out.

I’ve also been on the other side of that many many times!

Lexie knows if she starts I’ll leave; however I’m also that mom that if I really need to get stuff she can play with my phone while I shop and the looks I get for that are sometimes worse! She was watching Dora the other day and this lady went off on me; I just smiled said “thank you for that information” walked away and told her to “have a nice day” with a genuine smile (she looked really confused!).

They give you dirty looks for having your daughter use your phone?! Wow! I haven’t had that happen and Lennox is always using our phone. It’s the only way I can keep her happy in a store or restaurant or even the car these days!
