I’m taking a moment to remember those who’s lives were cut way too short 11 years ago today.
Those who lost a Mother or Father.
Those who lost a Grandmother or Grandfather.
Those who lost a Husband or Wife.
Those who lost a Brother or Sister.
Those who lost their Child.
Those who lost any Family Member, friend, or companion.
Take a few moments today to remember the firefighters, policeman; all emergency responders who risked their lives to help save others.
I was a senior in high school on 9/11/01. I was about to start our english class when we saw what was happening on the news. It didn’t even seem real. I remember sitting and watching the rest of the day and all through the night. Trying to get ahold of people I knew in the NYC area. It was surreal. My father was away taking care of my Grandfather and my Mother and Grandmother were now stuck in Europe and couldn’t get back home through Boston until after the airport was able to function again (a few weeks later).
Today I’ll make sure to give my loved ones a few extra hugs and kisses and cherish every moment I have with them. I can only imagine what the victims families feel every year on this day. My love and thoughts go out to them.
Never Forget – NYC – 9/11/01
