More elf on the shelf ideas for toddlers

The Second Week of Mischief for HoHo the Elf!

Week two with HoHo the Elf on the shelf has been fun! Lennox has discovered the Elf on the Shelf movie, so she is always excited to see HoHo on tv! I think she watched it a total of 5 times yesterday, all before lunch! Here are some photos of what he has been up to!

More elf on the shelf ideas for toddlers1. HoHo got stuck in the ice/water dispenser on the fridge trying to get a late night drink!

2. He drew a mustache on Lennox’s 1st birthday picture!

3. He was just hanging around from the ceiling fan!

4. He had a light night cuddle and movie watching party with his buddy Foofa (Lennox was not happy about this one!)

5. HoHo decided to do some baking. Lennox says he was making her cookies!

If you are looking for more ideas, check out my last post on Elf on the Shelf.

I would have to say, coming up with ideas for a toddler is not that easy after a week or so! Do you have any great ideas?

My almost 3yr old also touched her elf, Mistletoe, So the next day Mistletoe was in bed resting with a note to please not touch her while she gets better. I also encourage KK to talk to Mistletoe… apologized for touching her and making her sick!! Also things like good night and such! Not quite into it yet, but I think she will as the days go on!
    Merry Christmas!

My son will be 3 in January, and he gets that Ralph, our Elf (short for Wreck-it-Ralph) moves, but this morning he told me that he doesn’t care where Ralph is because he flew away. But when he does something bad, I make him tell Ralph and then say he’s sorry. Lately, finding new spots is getting a little difficult for Ralph, because we don’t want him to be bad, my son does enough of that for everyone! So I’m trying to find out what exactly it is that we can find for Ralph to do that’s good and keeps Braidyn, my son, interested and wanting to be good for Santa. He’s already hung from the lights in the window, sat on the tall shelf in the kitchen, sat in the stocking on the tree, hung out on the wall, and today, he’s hanging off the curtain rod.

I was thinking of having Ralph spell out something in candy for Braidyn, but since he can’t read or spell, I think that’d be a wasted effort.

Also, are you supposed to cut the strings that tie the elf’s hands together? I thought no, because then he can’t hold his knees anymore, but I’m not sure….

Some people cut the hands, I haven’t yet – because I like how they can hang on things like that. My neighbor said you could cut them and then put a little piece of Velcro on there, good idea!

You could have your elf stir up some hot chocolate the night before and store it in a jar with a not that says “I made this for you to drink love, ____ then in the morning when they find him with the hot coco all you have to do is heat it up. Or he could “bring” some coco packets from the North Pole.?

If you have Instagram follow “lilmissmia23” – I set the account up for my daughter who is almost 4 years old now & I have daily posts from the year & last year from “Elf on the Shelf”. They are a hit with her & all of my friends/family on FB. You’ll have to scroll down a bit for last years posts! 🙂 Hopefully they will give parents of toddlers a few more ideas!
