I have always loved traveling. I was lucky enough to Travel to England 3 times as a teenager, as well as various places through out the northeast, Caribbean and Costa Rica — all before graduating high school.
Kyle and I have done some traveling as well. We went to Jamaica for our honeymoon:
Then a week to Disney World & Orlando before Lennox was born:
We headed to San Francisco over Easter weekend in 2011.
I even got to travel to Buenos Aires, Argentina – but on my own for work.
And then Las Vegas this past winter for our mommy/daddy vacation!
We also of course head to Cape Cod every summer to visit my family.
Overall, we have traveled a lot and it has been great! But recently I was chatting with a old high school friend who quit her job a year ago and has been traveling the world, by herself, making friends a long the way. When looking through all her photos, it makes you realize how much of the world is left to explore and how I have not gotten even close to marking enough places off my “travel bucket list”. There are so many places throughout the US & Canada that I would like to go, but even more, getting out of the country and experience different cultures, would be fantastic. Here is a little look at my Travel Bucket List.
Santorini, Greece – How many people fell in love with Santorini while watching Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants? *Raises Hand*
Venice – The city looks so beautiful and so different. My grandfather always told me that it was somewhere everyone had to experience – I have to make sure that happens!
Paris – Would love to see the sights and history in this city. It would be great to experience this “romantic” city!
Australia – This is has been top on my list FOREVER. I want to go and explore the whole country, as well as New Zealand. One of my good friends is from Australia and she says I would love it. She says you feel different there – the air, the sun, nature – it all feels different but in a good way.
Tahiti – I just want to go somewhere where I can stay on top of the water, honestly!
Dubai – I know this would be somewhat challenging of a place to go, but some of my coworkers are from that area and said it would not be that hard to travel around. It is just LONG trip to get there and expensive. It would sure be an experience.
Costa Rica – I did go to San Isidro, CR during High School for a wedding, but I didn’t see that much. I would love to go back and explore the rainforest, the cities and coast. I have a place to stay if we go there, we just need to plan that vacation!
There are so many more – but those are the top destinations that come to mind right away. I know many people don’t want to leave our country – but given the chance, I would go so many places outside of our country. There is so much culture, history and diversity out there – I want to see it! I feel like we can go anywhere in the country easily and inexpensively, so why not push the budget/boundaries a little?
If you had to put your list together, what would be on it?
