Beating the Heat with Netflix Families

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Netflix.

Summertime in Texas is HOT. No, I don’t mean just kind of hot, I mean melt your face off, sweat through all your clothes, want to lay down and die after 2 minutes outside hot. At 8pm last night we took a walk and it was still SO HOT. There is just no getting around that fact.

With the evenings being the hottest, its hard to get out and enjoy the afternoon/evening when it’s 100+ degrees without any shade in sight. So sometimes, we just have to stick it out and stay inside. One way to keep a 3-year-old entertained is to have a family movie night! When we want to do this, we always turn to Netflix. We lucky have a new Google TV, Xbox, iPad, iPhone and Blu-ray player (whoa techno-overload) that have Netflix built into them (awesome), we have movies and tv shows readily available to us all the time!

We can turn on Netflix and pick out one of the great movies from the new Netflix Families categories and cuddle up together! Netflix recently added the Families section which has a number of new categories. Netflix.com/Families features several new categories including Family Movie Night, Are We There Yet for road trips and TV for Curious Kids. The best part of this for you? The new Netflix.com/Families page is available for both members and non-members this summer!lennox-eating-watching-netflixAs you can see, setting up the iPad while Lennox eats is always convenient too!

Some of Lennox’s favorite picks on Netflix lately? These are only a handful – she picks something new every time!

My two year old nephew LOVES Netflix. His mom let’s him watch on their Kindle Fire and it keeps him entertained when the big kids are hogging the television and don’t want to watch “baby” shows. Of course, my kids love Netflix too. It is so awesome.

I love Netflix. It is cheaper than cable and way better. You can watch whole series of TV shows in order. So fun.
