Time for another Recipe Share!  This time this recipe is from my Aunt Beckie.  She makes this salad for most of our family get-togethers because of the amount it makes and the simplicity.  I recently made this for a BBQ and came home with a ton of requests for the recipe.  Here you go!

Masticholi Pasta Salad Recipe

Masticholi Pasta Salad Recipe


  • 1 1/4 cup white vinegar
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 TBSP yellow mustard
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp Accent
  • 1 TBSP parsley
  • 1 medium onion (white)
  • 1 medium cucumber
  • 1 box Masticholi noodles


  1. 1.  Cook noodles as directed.
  2. 2.  Put all the other ingredients (expect pasta) into a blender and puree.  You do not need to peel the cucumber.
  3. 3.  Pour puree over cooked and drained pasta noodles.
  4. 4.  Make ahead 1-2 days for best taste.  Keep refrigerated.  Stir twice a day to mix. 
  5. 5.  Serve cool! Enjoy!

    I’m from Chicago where masticholi is king. Here in Texas? I could be speaking gibberish when I use that word to describe my dish. Masticholi is my go to baby/sick meal for friends and I always end up calling it baked pasta 😉
