While I was at BlogHer’13 – I had the opportunity to go to the PetSmart breakfast and learn all about their holiday line of pet items. As you know, we have a mini-zoo (3 cats and a dog) and we love having just as much fun with them as we do with anyone else around the holidays. So when I was given the opportunity to work with PetSmart, I was excited! PetSmart is always our go-to pet store for everything we need, and Halloween is no different.
PetSmart has been working closely with Martha Stewart in creating a new holiday line full of monster toys for dogs, festive toys for cats and pet costumes!
The Martha Stewart Pet toys are more than just a plastic or cotton toy for your pet, they have a variety of textures and benefits. The new Monster line for Halloween at PetSmart looks something like this:
Each “monster” has a number of different textures, sounds, materials and uses. For example, the yellow monster is considered cuddle toy, but it squeaks, has rope, which helps with dental care, a plush belly and felt, for ease of carrying around with them! The middle brown and purple monster squeaks, and is great for fetch, chewing (rope) and even tug of war! The blue monster, is Daisy Mae’s favorite (she may have even got a hold of it before this picture!) Daisy is the type of dog that will pull the stuffing out of all toys, this one is not stuffed however. The body is a plastic bottle that can be replaced by any common water bottle – so the crinkling noise is what she is hearing as she plays and chews on it!
They also have a great line of cat toys! They are a little more common for cat toys, catnip plush toys, dangling mouse toy, which is great for Lennox to play with the cats with. George jumps incredibly high! I know that Gracie will be carrying around the furry ghost. She carries everything around with her. All the cat toys also have multiple benefits from dental benefits, to different textures and even catnip. Because we all know, our cats need to be a little more crazy!
Lastly, costumes. In the past (pre-lennox), I would make Daisy a Halloween costume. She has been Scooby Doo, Underdog, a witch. All silly and fun. This year? Eeyore! She didn’t want to turn around and cooperate for a photo, but maybe that is just her take on Eeyore! The one thing about PetSmart Halloween costumes that is great, is that they now come in up to XX Large sizing. That is great, as an owner of a LARGE dog!Wait! I have good news for you! PetSmart is helping me give away one pet costume of your choice as well as a pet toy to one lucky reader! Use the PromoSimple widget below to enter. The contest will be open until Wednesday October 9th at 11:59PM. Good luck!
