Get the look for your holiday photos

social-fabric-disclaimerHalloween is over and Thanksgiving is on its way but everywhere you look, Christmas really is the holiday that you see. So with that theme, I knew it was time to get working on some new family pictures for Christmas time! To me, one of the hardest parts of getting ready for holiday photos, is figure out what to wear and how to get the look for less. I don’t want to spend too much on outfits we will never wear again, but rather find some items that we can actually wear on a normal basis.

This week we headed out to our local Sears after work to see what they had. They always have lots of cute holiday dresses for kids, so I didn’t know what else we would find! At first I wanted to buy one of the fancy kid dresses for Lennox but I knew I needed to go more casual for our picture location (Historic Roanoke, Texas). Thankfully, we were able to get everything we needed at Sears. What a time saver!

Family Photo Outfits from Sears #shop #ThisisStyleWe were able to pick up an adorable outfit for Lennox; a Red Plaid Skirt & Black Thermal Shirt with Bows & Sequins – both by Toughskins. I thought the pop of Red would look great for Christmas! Kyle and I then went hunting for what we would wear.

I found a great Black Cable Trim Cowl Neck Sweater by Canyon River Blues. Black goes with pretty much everything and it matched Lennox’s outfit. I knew paired with some other items I had, it would be a good fit – plus, I can wear it to work, out and about and possibly to some holiday celebrations! I also found some Black Sparkly Flats by Bongo to wear – I’m all about comfort! Kyle found a nice Levi’s Black, Bray & White Plaid Shirt w/ Pearl Snaps – great for Texas and the color scheme we had going on!

So now we had our outfits, it was time to get to our photo session this weekend! My friend Diana, took the pictures for us! She also took some great mother / daughter photos last month! Love them!

I can’t wait to share the rest of the photos with you soon!

I love the outfits you picked out. We need to get around to family photos for Christmas cards, too! Picking out coordinating, but not too matchy matchy outfits is always the hardest part.

I love the look of your holiday outfits — they aren’t over the top holiday, but still have that winter feel to them. You have a beautiful family!

I am absolutely loving your sweater! I wish it would be cool enough here in Phoenix to be able to wear something like that for more than hour or so in the evening (I miss Minnesota!). Your photos are darling!
