Lennox’s Toddler Bed Transition

Lennox’s big girl “transformation” happened over last weekend. I still have a few things I need to do before I really share it with everyone – but the majority of it done and Lennox is sleeping in her “big girl room”. Lennox, the girl who LOVED her crib so much – is now successfully sleeping in her toddler bed.

As Kyle “reminded” me while putting everything together – she went to bed a “baby” last night, and tonight (Saturday night) she was going to bed as a big girl. *sniffle, sniffle*

Lennox was so excited about the idea of a big girl room. Once we showed it to her, she was really excited but honestly the reaction was not what I expected. She was excited to sleep in her toddler bed but then started saying how she wanted to side back on, she’s going to fall off, etc. We left the room for the rest of the day to try to get her mind off of it.

IMG_3563Once bedtime rolled around – it went pretty well but she was nervous. I reassured her that she was a big girl and could do it; just like her cousin Henry! After about an hour of excuses, stories and some soothing, she fell asleep and did well all night.

Each night since (3 more nights) she has gone to bed without any issues. She tries to make an excuse but we pay no attention to it and off to sleep she goes. Monday night, we did find her on the ground – she had fallen out of bed – but she didn’t wake up at all – so whatever works I suppose! We’ll see if we find her on the ground again tonight!

IMG_4149I’m proud of her being such a big girl and doing so well. Once I finish some of the last touches to the room – I’ll be sure to share all of it with you! I love how it came out!

Well I bet that won’t be as big of a transition – Lennox still has enough room in her toddler bed – even with all her stuffed animals – I’m thinking it will last about a year!

I was nervous that it was not going to go well, but so far, so good!! I really do love having a video monitor – I have to get a better one though.
