Yesterday we had our annual neighborhood Christmas festival! Each year, our HOA puts together a great festival for the kids. It was supposed to be a week ago but due to the ice storm they had to reschedule. It all worked out though, the day was BEAUTIFUL – in the 60’s with the sun shining! The festival is free and has santa, reindeer (usually), longhorns, elves, toy soldiers, bounce houses, food, crafts and toys for tots donation. It’s a great event for our neighborhood! It’s also really nice because they try to get the same Santa each year – so we get some great photos year to year. They do have a photographer there if you don’t have your camera and it’s only $3 so that’s awesome! I was happy to have my better camera now though!
So we waited in line and Lennox was all ready to see Santa – she was very excited this year. Once it was her turn, she didn’t say too much but she did go right up to Santa to sit in his sleigh, tell him her name and when asked, told him that she wanted 3 rubber duckies! She smiled big and was such a good girl – she must be sucking up so that she’s on the nice list!
A successful Santa visit for sure! After Santa, we walked around the rest of the festival, had lunch, got her face painted….Which she loved so much!
And it wouldn’t be Christmas in Texas without a Texas Longhorn dressed up for Christmas… So Lennox was brave and went and sat on it! I was really surprised she wanted to do that — she of course, wouldn’t let me hold on to her lollipop! Here she is last year too … A little less difference from other years but still, she has gotten big!
I love our yearly trip to see Santa and I can’t wait to see how she reactions Christmas morning after Santa has visited our house! Only a few more days!
