This Christmas season, we have been able to do a lot of fun things with Lennox but unfortunately Kyle has been sick a lot this month so he has missed out on some of the events. So when they had the chance to go see Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer: The Musical this weekend together – it was the perfect opportunity for a Daddy / Daughter morning!
They got all dressed up and then headed to downtown Dallas to the Majestic Theatre. The show is just as you remember it as a kid. This is a stage adaptation (and inaugural production for Wishing Star) to the 1964 Christmas Classic, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. All the characters you remember – Rudolph, Hermey the elf, Yukon Cornelius and Clarice – all take the stage in an accurate take on the childhood favorite. The costumes are top-notch and remind you of everything you loved as a child – or everything you love now about the movie (if you are a kid!)
Kyle said that all the music and wording was spot on from the Christmas classic – so all Rudolph fans will not be disappointed. When asked what he would give it out of 5 stars – he responded with 5! It’s a hit for all ages, especially the little ones. A little Clarice even came home with Lennox – I have a feeling she will hold it close all through the rest of the Christmas season (and probably year round!)
Once the show was over, I heard all about it from Lennox – how Rudolph was asked to guide the sleigh, about the “monster” that showed up, all about it – she had SO MUCH fun! It was so cute. I’m so glad they were able to spend the morning together and have a great time. After the show, she even got to say hi to Santa and Yukon Cornelius!
Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer – The Musical will be showing in Dallas at the historic Majestic Theatre through December 29th – with multiple shows daily – so if you are looking for one more Christmas activity to do – this is the one you should choose!
