Tagged for Christmas

Christmas time is the best time of year! If you can’t tell already – the blog this month is on Christmas overload – so why not some more Christmas posts this week 😉 My friend, Sarah from Nurse Loves Farmer, tagged me in this fun blog Christmas game! I’ll answer the 10 questions she gave me and then tag more bloggers to answer a new group of 10 questions!

Here we go!

  1. Real or fake Christmas tree? I grew up having a real Christmas tree but ever since I moved to Texas, we have had a fake one. I do love a real one but with the weather here and everything – fake is the normal tradition! I hope to have a real tree next year or the year after for Lennox!
  2. Favorite Christmas tradition? Hmm… I would have to say Gingerbread houses! Ever since I was a little kid we have done gingerbread houses each year (usually the weekend after thanksgiving). My aunt made our gingerbread houses from scratch until I no longer lived in Massachusetts and now my sister makes them for Lennox & Henry!
  3. Any new Christmas traditions this year? This year is the first year that we are REALLY following the Elf on the Shelf “rules”. Lennox is SO into it – it’s so much fun!
  4. One thing you don’t care for about Christmas? I was just saying this tonight, the Post Office! It is SO bad here in Texas. It’s always bad but it’s incredibly bad at Christmas Time! I love sending Christmas cards (and receiving!) but I dread the trip to get stamps!
  5. Do you like to bake? What’s your favorite thing to bake at Christmas?  I do like to bake, but I find that I used to make more Christmas cookies before I had Lennox. I just haven’t had the time. Each year though, the girls on my husband’s side of the family get together for a night of baking and then we swap cookies so that we come home with a big variety! My favorite thing to make is fudge!
  6. If you had the option to travel anywhere for Christmas, where would you go? I would love to go up to a snowy mountain lodge / cabin with the whole family! I would love Lennox to be able to play in the snow again on Christmas morning, go sledding, etc. It was snowy last Christmas here but the chances of that happening again is slim!
  7. What is your favorite Christmas song? Baby, It’s Cold Outside!
  8. What is the weather typically like on Christmas day where you live? Oh it could be 65 degrees like it was yesterday, or it could be raining and 40 or snowy and 20 like last year — it varies so much this time of year!
  9. What gift are you most excited about giving this year? I have a few for Kyle that I can’t mention here that I look forward giving but I think mostly, I’m looking forward to Lennox opening up her gifts and seeing the items on her wish list! Also – I look forward to seeing her open her gift from Santa that she has been asking for!
  10. What is on your Christmas list this year? My Christmas list was a little hard this year! I did ask for a flash for my camera, new camera bag, a few other small camera accessories… I’m hoping to really crack down and learn how to do better photography this year. I have come so far from last year but I have so much more to learn!
