Lets talk mess! Glitter is not something that I usually include in most of Lennox’s craft projects, because it just gets everywhere and it’s hard to clean. You end up seeing glitter throughout the house for days and weeks. But I wanted to put a new vacuum I purchased at Walmart this week to the test; the Eureka AirSpeed All Floors vacuum.
(Lennox gave me this funny face, I think she was hoping I bought the Pink Eureka rather than yellow!!)
So, while we were helping take care of our nephew, Henry, this weekend – I let the two kids make a mess, crafting glitter and split pea shamrocks for St. Patrick’s Day!
More on this craft soon, but you can see how the glitter was sticking to everything in this picture:
Since it was all over the kids, it had to be on the floors! I got out the new vacuum that we purchased at Walmart for under $100 and put it to the test. The Eureka AirSpeed All Floors vacuum claims it cleans carpets better than the Dyson DC41 and is supposed to work well on all floor types!
I was really curious about the all floor types, because within 6 feet of the kitchen table we go from tile, to hardwood to carpet. So really, the mess from the kitchen and crafts can go on all three! Additionally, I have a Dyson and wanted to compare. I’m happy to tell you that I was pleasantly surprised! It picked up quiet a bit of dust, dirt and glitter from our floors, which I had just vacuumed (with the Dyson) and washed the day before.
This vacuum is affordable ($98.96 at Walmart), lightweight (great for two-story houses like mine) and has some great additional features.
- Deep Cleans All Floors (with brushroll power switch to help cleaning of all floor types)
- AirSpeed Technology, designed to remove more dirt
- Never will lose suction
- Allergen Filter (great with pets!)
- 39 Foot Total Reach System (27 foot cord and 12 foot deluxe street hose)
- Stair / Upholstery attachment
All of the above is true when using it and I was excited to see that it picked up glitter on the first pass, as well as the pet hair that was on the ground. We have George, a fluffy orange cat who likes to leave little hairballs of fluff around, especially under furniture. This vacuum would suck up the hair when I isn’t even at it yet – at about 6 to 9 inches away from the hair, it would get sucked right into the vacuum – that was GREAT and much better than my Dyson does. That really helps when vacuuming near future or under cabinets. I’m really happy with the Eureka Airspeed vacuum so far and look forward to being able to use it around the rest of the house.
