Schlitterbahn’s Ice Chest Recipe Challenge! #BahnCooler

You may remember that last year, we visited Schlitterbahn, the World’s Best Waterpark! We had such a fun time last year, Lennox is even asking to go back again this year.

This year, Schlitterbaun is having a fun challenge, the Schlitterbahn’s Moms Ice Chest Challenge! When you head to the water park for the day – all the meals and snacks can really add up, but at Schlitterbahn, you can bring in your own food – which is a huge savings for many families!

You can always pack the traditional Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwich, chips, fruit, drinks, etc – but why not make something yummy and special for your day at the waterpark? One of my favorite treats to make (that travels well) are Candy Cookie Cake Bars! This recipe is quick and easy to make and can be changed up a bit every time.

Candy Cookie Cake Bars

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 25 minutes

Total Time: 30 minutes

Candy Cookie Cake Bars

Ingredients

  • 3/4 Cup M&M's or desired candy pieces
  • 1 Cup chocolate chips (any kind / flavor you like)
  • 1 Package of Yellow Cake Mix
  • 1 Box of vanilla pudding (small box)
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/4 Cup Water
  • 3/4 Cup Vegetable Oil

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl. Note: Use cake mix & vanilla mix straight out of the package - do not prepare the mix as directed on the box.
  3. Pour the mixture into a non-stick or greased baking pan (I used 10x13)
  4. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a tooth pick comes out clean (I like mine a little fudge-like in the middle!)
  5. Let cool and cut into squares!

If you are planning a trip in Texas this summer, make sure to stop by one of the many Schlitterbahn locations, but my recommendation would be to hit the New Braunfels location – it’s the best! Just park your car for free, pay your admission fee, and bring in your own food in a cooler – no hidden costs!

Disclaimer: I received free admission tickets in return for this post. All opinions are 100% my own.
