Saturday was the big Barbie Birthday Bash! All week, it looked like it might rain but when the morning came, the sun decided to come out and we were able to have the party at our neighborhood spray park as planned, phew! Although it was sunny, the wind was gusting pretty good and it made it a little tough to decorate the party table but we made do with what we had!
Since the party was at a neighborhood spray park, we can’t reserve and decorate the whole area – I only have one table to decorate – this is how it turned out: Pink, pink and more pick with a whole bunch of glitter mixed in there! I think it looks pretty Barbie-ish, what do you think?
I also had Barbie party supplies, all available on Oriental Trading Company. Barbie is a popular toy, but unfortunately it isn’t the biggest party theme out there anymore, so finding what we needed was a little tough, but thankfully Oriental Trading Company had a bunch of options to pick from!
I also made some quick and easy Fruit Kabob snacks which were 100% gone by the end of the party – they are always a big hit with kids!I made Princess Pink Popcorn as well (recipe coming soon)!
I made a DIY Burlap Barbie Banner (tutorial coming soon), Wooden Scrapbook Letters that spelled out Lennox’s name, the #4, a Barbie printable and a sparkle candle. All of it was pink, girly, Barbie-tastic (as Lennox would say) and fun!
I ordered some really cute invitations for Lennox’s birthday from Tiny Prints. Tiny Prints had a huge variety of invitations. They unfortunately did not have Barbie exactly, but I found this one (Stellar Celebration Design) and I think it incorporated great with the theme of the party as well as the colors!
What do you think? They are extremely high quality and are shipped out very quickly. I chose to have the invitation printed on luster type paper – which gave it a little iridescent, which was a nice touch. One thing I really liked is that they have a designer review them, before printing – so you shouldn’t have any surprises when they arrive at your doorstep! If you are looking for invitations – Tiny Prints would be a great resource for you.
Lennox had so much fun running around with her friends from the neighborhood, family friends, cousin and school friends. Last year, when we had the party at the spray park there were 2 other parties going on but this year we were lucky and no one was there at all so we pretty much had the park to ourselves!
It is so difficult to get 5 girls to look at the camera at the same time… this is as good as it gets:
After the party we went home and Lennox got to open up all her gifts. She was so excited to see that she got Barbie dolls, a Barbie dress, the LEGO movie (she was so excited about this) and a bunch of other fun gifts!
Lastly, it was time for Lennox to get her gift from Grandma & Papa. Little does Lennox know, but this gift had been sitting in the guest room closet since before Christmas! A KidKraft Majestic Mansion Dollhouse!
This is by far one of the nicest dollhouses I have seen. She was surprised to get it I think and the rest of the day and weekend she played with it for hours! She truly loves it! If you ever are in the market for a dollhouse, you really should check out all the dollhouses that KidKraft has. But be warned – it will take you HOURS to put together (Thanks Papa!!).So that is her party – she had a great day and she is officially 4! Now time to start thinking about 5… ok, not yet – I need a break from party planning!
Note: Oriental Trading Company provided us with decorations for this party. Tiny Prints provided the invitations. All photos and opinions are my own.
