Today is the First Day of School for Lennox! This weekend she got to do a lot of playing, created a back to school bear at Build-a-Bear and of course, spent lots of time playing with Mommy & Daddy before her back to school routine begins. Since we were home more, I wanted to make sure she got a special and fun snack and lunch! She wanted to try something new so I went to the store shopping for some ideas!
While walking up and down the aisles of Walmart, I thought of a cute idea for preparing food for Lennox. They say presentation is everything with food, that is the truth when it comes to kids! If you make it fun, they are bound to eat it! So I decided to grab some kid-friendly frozen treats, Bagel Bites and Delimex Taquitos!
Once I got home, I cooked everything up quickly and started making Lennox’s plate – fun! I decided to make a flower out of the food that I picked up. You may also think it looks like a tree, as Kyle thought. Whichever, either way it was a fun and tasty meal for Lennox!
Lennox even went ahead and continued the creation. I had added vegetables to her plate and she made a “sunburst” and petals on the flower. I love that she is creative like that as well. Once it was time to finish playing, it was time to eat. The result? Mommy tested, Kid approved!
Bagel Bites are really a great after school snack or even a quick meal for a kid! They are made with real cheese and homemade sauce (which also contains 0g trans fat). You can cook them in the microwave, toaster oven or even the oven – all depending on how much time you have! Make one or 12, it’s up to you! The same goes for the Delimex Taquitos. They are so fast to make and you only have to make 1 if you want. They come in a variety of flavors (beef, chicken, pork, cheese and even fruit!).
If you like to find new ways to use food or love Bagel Bites and want to try something new, check out all the fun recipes on their website. Look for both items in the frozen food aisle at Walmart. If you are running to pick some up, don’t forget to print out these two coupons to help you save on Delimex and Bagel Bites!
