Dr. “Stuffins” and Dr. Kollin!

Last weekend, my brother in law, Kollin, graduated from medical school. He is officially Dr. Kollin! We are so absolutely proud of him. Just a short 3 years ago, he was living with us trying to get into medical school for physical therapy; now he is graduated and a doctor! Way to go Kollin!!!

I asked Lennox if she was goign to go to school “here” too.. here as in UNT where we were attending the ceremony. She said yes, I said what type of doctor? She says, I’m already a doctor, Dr. Stuffins! Too cute.

So when we were at dinner, I told her to go up to Kollin and say, “You’re a doctor now Uncle Kollin, Yay!”. Instead? In front of everyone she says to him, “YOU’RE A DOCTOR LIKE ME NOW!” The mind of a toddler – it’s a funny place!

Family Fun Day: Perot Museum of Nature & Science

As I mentioned in my Mother’s Day post, we headed to Dallas to check out the new Perot Museum of Nature and Science.

I wanted to share some of the photos from the trip with Lennox. To be a kid again and to use your imagination so much; at times, I’m so jealous of her!

Lennox pretending to be a “fireman”. Don’t tell her she really is a road construction worker! perot-museum-05

Doing some grocery shopping at the “farmers market” where she could pick out some great fruit and veggies, pay for them, sort them and bag them up! perot-museum-04

Watching snakes with daddy and asking LOTS of questions!

perot-museum-03 Learning all about locks and how they work with the Great Lakes! Hey, maybe even I learned something ;-)

And check out her reaction here while Kyle was racing Felix Jones in the sports exhibit. Kyle lost by .01 second, that’s pretty good! Lennox was cheering her on and so proud of her daddy!

Lennox and I racing a T-Rex. They may be big and move slowly but they have HUGE steps so we had no chance in beating it! But Lennox could pretend to be a dinosaur, nevertheless!

My Appearance in the New York Times!

So some of you may remember me mentioning about a month ago that I was contacted by a writer for the New York Times about the tradition of taking photos of your children in the Texas Bluebonnets. She had found my posts about bluebonnets here on my blog and gotten in contact with me directly.

I had a phone interview with her a few weeks back, and the article was printed today in the newspaper and published online.

Although the article went a little different direction than I had expected (I don’t try to break the law while taking bluebonnet pictures!!) and there was no mention of my blog (bummer) – it still is an interesting article and pretty darn cool to have my name, as well as Lennox’s in the New York Times.. in a half page article in the first section too!

Here is the excerpt that I am included in:

You can read the full version in Section A, Page 10 on Tuesday April 23, 2013 or you can read the full article online.

PS. You can vote for one of my bluebonnet photos through Metroplex Baby & Kids — if you would vote for Lennox, that would be awesome – thank you :)  VOTE FOR LENNOX HERE
