Weekend Wrap-up >> Instagram

As usual, we had another busy weekend. Next weekend? I have no big plans and I’m looking forward to it, as is Lennox’s nap schedule I think! I haven’t done a weekend recap in quite some time, so I figured today was as good a time as any!

First off, I’m so glad that they found the Boston Marathon Bombers and it will be interesting to see what other facts unfold. After the bombing happened, I had to wear my Boston shirt to work!

Lennox had her first “nastics” (Gymnastics) class at The Little Gym this weekend. She love love loved it! The teacher thought she would be shy and just wander around, was he wrong! She jumped right in and was perfectly comfortable doing everything she was shown how to do. Since that was her introductory class and it went well, we decided to sign her up for classes. I’m hoping to get in 2 classes a week as long as our schedule works — figure that is the best way to get the most out of our money (they let you attend any class you want as long as there is room on top of your permanent class day).

As if that didn’t tire her out, she then headed down the street to our neighbors house for a birthday party! They rented a bounce house and the kids just had a blast. They jumped for about 3 hours! Near the end, her cousin Henry came over for the night, and tried out some jumping as well. He was nervous but Lennox showed him the ropes and then he had a blast too.  I’m pretty jealous of all their fun. I would of loved a bounce house at my house as a kid! 03-instagram-42213

Lennox likes to dress Henry up with all her “jewels” — I have to take pictures each time for blackmail later on in life ;-)

Our next door neighbors got some new outdoor play toys and asked if we wanted their hand-me-downs. For free? Sure why not! They are a little faded but it doesnt relaly matter, espeically here in Texas – Everything fades so fast as it is. I brought the kids out there this morning…and? She was SO SO excited! She ran back to me and said, “Thank you mommy, good job! I’m so proud of you!” I guess she is proud that I’m a good mommy? I have no idea, but she loves her playhouse and new sandbox (even minus the sand!) She even washed her house all out today and dried it off w/  a towel – that will be her new chore this summer! 05-instagram-42213 Lastly? We headed about an hour from home to the other side of Weatherford (for those of you not from the area, we headed OUT of the city into the “country”). We went to attend the first birthday party for Amanda from Princess of the Panhandle‘s daughter, Teale. Lennox had fun watching the kids play, eating sweet treats and playing dress up. Thanks for inviting us Amanda!

Chuga-Chuga-Cho-Cho

On Sunday, Lennox and I headed out to Grapevine, TX – One of my favorite cities in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. We met up with my nephew Henry and Sister-in-Law Mandy. Why where we together? To go see Thomas the Train of course!

When I received 4 tickets to the event, I knew I had bring Henry. He is the biggest train lover I know! Lennox likes Thomas, but Henry REALLY likes Thomas the Train!

A Day out with Thomas took place at the Grapevine Vintage Railroad, the same place we went for the North Pole Express (Polar Express) during Christmastime. Our tickets included a train ride (we sat in what would be Annie), we met Sir Topham Hat, attended storytime/video viewing of Thomas the Train, and did a scavenger hunt to win a prize at the end of the visit from Thomas. You could also wait and have your picture taken with Thomas, but by the time it got to that line, it was just too long and too hot to wait (it was almost 90* outside and we had two sleepy toddlers).

Sir Topham Hat - Thomas the Train

The kids loved the train ride, as I knew they would. The train ride it self doesn’t have that much involvement with Thomas. They do play some music from the show, pass out passenger certificate, etc but it mostly is just to enjoy the ride. It was a great day outside, weather wise, so all the windows were open and the kids put their hands and heads (!) out the window and let the wind blow in their hair. Their excitement fed off of each other, and they really had a great time giggling all the way.

A Day out with Thomas is a fun event for anyone who has a kiddo into trains and Thomas! The event here in Grapevine will be going on through April 21st but you can catch up with Thomas and Friends throughout the nation on the Day out with Thomas 2013 Tour!

Easter Egg Hunt – Mommy Fail!

Well, Saturday we planned for cousin Henry to come over and we would all go to the neighborhood easter egg hunt – at 10:30. Well, 10:30 came and we arrived to find out it was at 10:00. The big kid group was just finishing up. OOPS! Total mommy fail  :( I felt bad, but at least the kids aren’t old enough to understand exactly what was going on. We still acted like nothing happened and checked out what else was going on – including a visit from the Easter Bunny.

The kids waited for their turn to go say Hi to the Easter Bunny — They both didn’t want to do it but we gave it a try — they wouldn’t go by themselves but with a parent, they did ok.

See – No tears, I call that a success!

We then decided to head back to the house and make our own easter egg hunt in the front yard. The kids thought that the Easter Bunny had come and dropped the eggs off and they had fun! Actually, it probably lasted longer than the big one would have. With all those kids, they go by SO fast with so many big kids.

We took this picture last year too and it was a keeper – so we figured we better do it again! IMG_2062 Time to find some eggs in the front yard!
