On Halloween I revealed Lennox’s DIY Hawkgirl costume, but today I’m sharing pictures from Trick or Treating. We had two Trick or Treating events this Halloween. The day before Halloween we went trick or treating at my work – Lennox always has fun with this, as it isn’t so often that she gets to come to work with me! Henry was of course there too since my sister works for the same company – they had a great time with the candy, games and party!
Also – There are a few of her classmates that have parents who work where I do, so she got to meet up with them and she was so excited! And then on Halloween evening, we headed out in our neighborhood for some “real” trick or treating! They were troopers and big kids! They hit more neighborhood than they have in the past year and had so much fun. Trick or Treats and Thank You’s were abundant – I was so proud of her!
She, of course, was Hawkgirl and Henry was a Fireman!
Lennox wanted Kyle and I to dress up too so although we did not have real costumes we represented the Justice League together – Green Lantern, Hawkgirl and Wonder Woman!
We took our pictures and then Hawkgirl was READY TO GO! The best costumes and sights that we saw this year were not from trick or treaters but those giving out the candy! We saw Mike & Sully from Monsters University and Shrek had a real donkey!!
Lennox and Henry had a great time this Halloween and I can’t wait to see what they decide to dress up as next year!
And as a quick flashback – here is Lennox through the years!
We made our annual trip to the local pumpkin patch on Monday evening. Our nephew, Henry, was having a school event there so we joined him for the evening. We always head to Halls Pumpkin Farm in Grapevine / Colleyville area. It really is quite nice without being too huge. They have lots of pumpkins, set ups for pictures, cars, tractors, a hay ride, animals and a corn maze. It’s fun taking the same pictures every year to watch how Lennox has grown. You can see how much smaller she was last year!
I took SO many pictures – here are a handful of my favorites! I have a great comparison picture I will post soon too!
Surprisingly enough, we actually got a picture together too! This is the shot I get every single year – love this truck!
This is what Lennox called her “Scary” face! She’s so scary, huh?And her surprised face….Last year, Lennox couldn’t even get up on the tractor on her own – this year – she did it all by herself. I say, we have entered the fake, cheesy smile stage! After a while, Henry arrived! You would never know they loved each other…We headed into the corn maze. It’s the best one I’ve been to! We even let them lead the way. We did some circling and wrong turns but they eventually got us out!Gosh, when did they get so big?ALL THE PUMPKINS!This is the pumpkin patch! Love how quaint it seems. Lennox and Henry’s scary faces! Not so scary kids! What a little ham…This year Kyle couldn’t come with us – because last year he learned the hard way that he is allergic to hay! oops! But, either way, it was another successful trip to the pumpkin patch.
As usual, we had another busy weekend. Next weekend? I have no big plans and I’m looking forward to it, as is Lennox’s nap schedule I think! I haven’t done a weekend recap in quite some time, so I figured today was as good a time as any!
First off, I’m so glad that they found the Boston Marathon Bombers and it will be interesting to see what other facts unfold. After the bombing happened, I had to wear my Boston shirt to work!
Lennox had her first “nastics” (Gymnastics) class at The Little Gym this weekend. She love love loved it! The teacher thought she would be shy and just wander around, was he wrong! She jumped right in and was perfectly comfortable doing everything she was shown how to do. Since that was her introductory class and it went well, we decided to sign her up for classes. I’m hoping to get in 2 classes a week as long as our schedule works — figure that is the best way to get the most out of our money (they let you attend any class you want as long as there is room on top of your permanent class day).
As if that didn’t tire her out, she then headed down the street to our neighbors house for a birthday party! They rented a bounce house and the kids just had a blast. They jumped for about 3 hours! Near the end, her cousin Henry came over for the night, and tried out some jumping as well. He was nervous but Lennox showed him the ropes and then he had a blast too. I’m pretty jealous of all their fun. I would of loved a bounce house at my house as a kid!
Lennox likes to dress Henry up with all her “jewels” — I have to take pictures each time for blackmail later on in life
Our next door neighbors got some new outdoor play toys and asked if we wanted their hand-me-downs. For free? Sure why not! They are a little faded but it doesnt relaly matter, espeically here in Texas – Everything fades so fast as it is. I brought the kids out there this morning…and? She was SO SO excited! She ran back to me and said, “Thank you mommy, good job! I’m so proud of you!” I guess she is proud that I’m a good mommy? I have no idea, but she loves her playhouse and new sandbox (even minus the sand!) She even washed her house all out today and dried it off w/ a towel – that will be her new chore this summer!Lastly? We headed about an hour from home to the other side of Weatherford (for those of you not from the area, we headed OUT of the city into the “country”). We went to attend the first birthday party for Amanda from Princess of the Panhandle‘s daughter, Teale. Lennox had fun watching the kids play, eating sweet treats and playing dress up. Thanks for inviting us Amanda! Another busy and fun weekend has come to an end. Next weekend, I plan on getting some things done around the house with Lennox; maybe some gardening and art projects!
