Gift Guide: MindWare Art Sets for Kids + Giveaway

Recently I learned about MindWare toys and how great they are. MindWare toys are “brainy toys for kids of all ages”. Their mission is to create a collection of unique products that help promote learning and engagement while still being fun and enjoyable! And in my opinion, MindWare does that. Whether you are looking for a high quality art set for your daughter or a remote control rover kit for your son, MindWare has something for every age child.

I was lucky enough to have two products sent to us to take a look at and for Lennox to experience. We were sent the Make Your Own Glitter Snow Globes kit and the Paint Your Own Porcelain Vases kit. Both are EXTREMELY nice! I was more than impressed with both of them.

Make Your Own Glitter Snow Globes

This kit is great for the holiday season, but could be used anytime of year. Snow Globes remind me of Christmas and of the winter. The packaging is high quality and colorful. There is no mystery of what is inside the box! With this set, your child is able to work with a variety of colored clay to design their own clay figure. Once they create their clay pieces, you can bake it, put the globe together and shake. It’s pretty straight forward and the final product is a no-leak, double sealed snow glob that will let you decorate your home with your child’s creations, without making a mess!

The kit contains everything you need to create 2 snow globes:

  • 2 Snow Globes
  • 12 Colors of Clay
  • 10 Glue Dots
  • Sculpting Tool
  • Glitter

From MindWare’s website, the key skills that this product promotes:

  • Strengthens creativity, discipline, fine-motor skills, design and problem-solving skills
  • Learn how to blend, layer and mold clay

Paint Your Own Porcelain Vases

Like the Snow Globe kit, the Paint Your Own Porcelain Vases kit is great for all ages. The contents of this kit are high quality and the final products will be beautiful. This kit lets your little artist paint in any way they wish. Whether it is a very detailed design or an “abstract” design – you are sure to have some beautiful vases at the end of the day.

This would be a great kit to get and then make some homemade Christmas gifts for grandparents, teachers or even for mom and dad!

This kit comes with everything you need to create 3 vases:

  • 3 White Porcelain Vases
  • 12 Bright Paints
  • Paint Brush

From MindWare’s website, the key skills that this product promotes:

  • Strengthens creativity, hand-eye coordination, patience, fine motor and design skills

Its refreshing when you come across a brand of toys that creates high quality toys that let your child’s creative mind go crazy! If you are looking for a unique gift this holiday season – please check out MindWare toys!

I’ll make sure to update this post as well with the final creations once they are all finished up!

I’m Part of the Mom Squad + LeapPad Platinum

Recently I joined the Mom Squad Mom Ambassador group. This is a fun group of moms that get to try out LeapFrog toys and share their experiences just as I am going to do today! One of the first items that we received was the new LeapPad Platinum.

We have never had a LeapPad before but I’ve seen lots of kids playing with them. Lennox has always seen our next door neighbor playing with hers as well and I knew she would instantly love it.

The first day that I gave Lennox her LeapPad Platinum, we were in the car and had a long drive ahead of us. We started it up, set up her profile and I handed it over. She played with it for an hour straight with no questions asked, no directions given.

The exterior design of the LeapPad as well as the software design was inntuitive enough for a five year old to figure it out 100% on their own. I love that!  A few of the features include:

  • 7″ Hi-Res Multi-Touch Screen
  • Kid-Safe Web Wi-Fi
  • Durable construction making it the toughest LeapPad ever
  • Parent Controls
  • Fast & Powerful Processor
  • Access to 1,000+ games
  • Interacts with LeapFrog Imagicards

So many times we get toys that are for Lennox’s age and they still need a lot of help. don’t get me wrong, I’m happy to help – but it’s awesome when you get an age appropriate toy or gadget, and it really is age appropriate! And the LeapPad is ever better, as its educational and fun!

Along with the LeapPad Platinum, we got the Imagicards that works alongside the LeapPad. LeapFrog Imagicards make learning magical! Imagicards are card packs that you can purchase to work with your LeapFrog tablets. These cards will unlock new activities and games. All your child has to do is unlock the game by taking a picture of the card with the tablet and the cards come to life (like magic!). We have just started trying them out but the Imagicard technology is really fun to watch!

If you are looking for a new kid friendly tablet I would really recommend the LeapPad Platinum and Imagicards. Before you know it your little one will be playing learning games, singing songs and even making videos with their new tablet, just as Lennox has been!

To learn more about LeapFrogs newest products, make sure to follow them on Facebook and Twitter! And stay tuned for more fun LeapFrog products right here on my blog!

Note: As a LeapFrog Mom Ambassador, I receive products, promotional items and educational material to use and share as I see fit. However, any opinions expressed by me are honest and reflect my actual experience.
