Gift Guide: MindWare Art Sets for Kids + Giveaway

Recently I learned about MindWare toys and how great they are. MindWare toys are “brainy toys for kids of all ages”. Their mission is to create a collection of unique products that help promote learning and engagement while still being fun and enjoyable! And in my opinion, MindWare does that. Whether you are looking for a high quality art set for your daughter or a remote control rover kit for your son, MindWare has something for every age child.

I was lucky enough to have two products sent to us to take a look at and for Lennox to experience. We were sent the Make Your Own Glitter Snow Globes kit and the Paint Your Own Porcelain Vases kit. Both are EXTREMELY nice! I was more than impressed with both of them.

Make Your Own Glitter Snow Globes

This kit is great for the holiday season, but could be used anytime of year. Snow Globes remind me of Christmas and of the winter. The packaging is high quality and colorful. There is no mystery of what is inside the box! With this set, your child is able to work with a variety of colored clay to design their own clay figure. Once they create their clay pieces, you can bake it, put the globe together and shake. It’s pretty straight forward and the final product is a no-leak, double sealed snow glob that will let you decorate your home with your child’s creations, without making a mess!

The kit contains everything you need to create 2 snow globes:

  • 2 Snow Globes
  • 12 Colors of Clay
  • 10 Glue Dots
  • Sculpting Tool
  • Glitter

From MindWare’s website, the key skills that this product promotes:

  • Strengthens creativity, discipline, fine-motor skills, design and problem-solving skills
  • Learn how to blend, layer and mold clay

Paint Your Own Porcelain Vases

Like the Snow Globe kit, the Paint Your Own Porcelain Vases kit is great for all ages. The contents of this kit are high quality and the final products will be beautiful. This kit lets your little artist paint in any way they wish. Whether it is a very detailed design or an “abstract” design – you are sure to have some beautiful vases at the end of the day.

This would be a great kit to get and then make some homemade Christmas gifts for grandparents, teachers or even for mom and dad!

This kit comes with everything you need to create 3 vases:

  • 3 White Porcelain Vases
  • 12 Bright Paints
  • Paint Brush

From MindWare’s website, the key skills that this product promotes:

  • Strengthens creativity, hand-eye coordination, patience, fine motor and design skills

Its refreshing when you come across a brand of toys that creates high quality toys that let your child’s creative mind go crazy! If you are looking for a unique gift this holiday season – please check out MindWare toys!

I’ll make sure to update this post as well with the final creations once they are all finished up!

Summer Fun: Squirt Gun Painting + Ice Cream Treats!

I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Klondike. I received free product coupons to facilitate my review as well as compensation for my participation.”

Last week I was able to pick Lennox up early from school so that we could go home and do some fun summer activities. I am trying to let her have as much fun during the summertime that all the kids are having, even though Lennox has to be in school all day. The activity that we did that afternoon was a big hit – Water Color Painting with Squirt Guns! It really was an easy activity and Lennox loved how her paintings turned out! These were a great addition to our art canvas’.

Here is how you can do the same activity with your kids!

Water Color Painting with Squirt Guns

What you will need:

  • Water Based Kid’s Paint
  • Water
  • Squirt Guns
  • Plastic Measuring Cup with Spout
  • Canvas or Large Paper

In a plastic measuring cup (make sure it has a spout), pour in a good amount of tempera paint in your desired color.

Add equal amount of warm water and mix together well.

Pour the mixture into a squirt gun. Repeat the process until you have all the colors you want! I just did the 3 primary colors.

Once you are ready, set up your canvas outside – and let your little artists create! This is a really easy activity for many ages to participate in – I would suggest having plenty of additional canvas’ or posters available – as your kids will want to use up all the paint in the squirt guns!

It was really hot outside that afternoon, so after we finished our fun painting activity, we decided to grab a yummy treat out of the freezer and cool off! Lennox’s choice was a Klondike Cookie Dough Swirl Bar.

This was the first time Lennox had a Klondike bar and I think she loved it! Klondike Bars are something that I always remember from being a kid and now they have so many great flavors; Cookie Dough Swirl, as well as Heath, REESE’S, Mint Chocolate Chip, Krunch, Caramel Pretzel, OREO, Dark Chocolate, Rocky Road, Double Chocolate, Neapolitan, and Original.

Klondike now has a newly launched ice cream treat – Klondike Kandy Bars. They are a combination of Chocolate Klondike Shell and creamy ice cream and candy bar goodness! Klondike Kandy Bars come in the new Mint Fudge Cookie, as well as Caramel & Peanuts, Fudge Krunch, and Cookies & Cream.

Klondike Giveaway

Klondike Bars are available in six-packs and Klondike Kandy Bars are available in four packs – but why have to buy them when you can win them! I’ll be giving away 5 packages of Klondike Bars to one of my readers. Use the rafflecopter widget below to enter.

Rainbow Stained Glass Craft for Preschoolers

St. Patrick’s Day and Spring is just around the corner!  I love decorating for this time of the year which means it is time for crafts with my favorite Preschooler!  I wanted something for our front window for St. Patrick’s Day but also for Spring.  Rainbows are totally St. Patrick’s Day and so Springy! This craft is perfect for school aged kiddos, Jude is almost 4 and he needed assistance but did most of it on his own.  It was actually a very educational craft as well, we learned all about Rainbows and colors!

Want to make your own?  Of course you do!

  • Wax paper
  • White Glue
  • Paint Brush
  • Rainbow Colored tissue paper cut or torn into small pieces.

Step 2: Once the glue is on the wax paper start creating your rainbow.   Let your child be as creative at this point – they can make the perfect little rainbow or a crazy mixed up rainbow!

Step 3: After we were done with the Rainbow colors and white clouds Jude told me that we needed a treasure at the Rainbow too. Well of course we need a Pot O Gold! Well done Jude.  This is the face of a pleased boy!  Check out that Treasure he made!!

Step 4: Once the tissue paper is in place you will need to roll out another sheet of wax paper and paint more white glue onto it. Simply place the second piece of wax paper glue side down onto the tissue paper.  Smooth out and remove any air bubbles.

Step 5: Let the glue dry completely, we let ours sit over night, once dry you can cut your Rainbow Stained Glass out.

Now you just need to find the perfect window to hang your rainbow masterpiece and you will have the luck of the Irish with you!

Thanks for sharing this great craft with us Censie
