Lennox’s Fall Fashion Looks from OshKosh! #backtobgosh #bgoshjeanius

I participated in a Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for OshKosh B’Gosh. I received an OshKosh B’Gosh gift card to facilitate my post and a promotional item to thank me for my participation.”

It may still be close to 100 degrees in Texas but we’re hoping and looking forward to the cooler weather that we know will EVENTUALLY hit Texas. While we wait (in)patiently for the cooler weather, Lennox and I hit the back to school sales to get some new fall clothes! Although Lennox will be wearing uniforms at her school this year, she will still need clothes for after school and the weekends – this means we skip some of the everyday play clothes sections and get to pick out some extra cute, extra stylish outfits – since they don’t get worn as often!

Needless to say, when we went to OshKosh we found so many great outfits – it was hard to just pick a few. Lennox wanted to try on everything! There were so many different types of outfits, different than the normal pink, glittery outfit – which I do love – but sometimes we want something different. These new outfits Lennox and I picked out were big girl outfits, in great fall colors!

As soon as we got home, it was time to show off our new clothes in a fashion show. She set up chairs for Kyle and I to sit in, we had music and a camera! The poses are 100% her own and the fashionista is her at heart! Here are her fashion looks – 6 looks, plus accessories for under $150!

oshkosh-back-to-school-outfit-01I personally just love this outfit. One, she is super cute with her jacket over her shoulder – but I love the colors – the new black, white & indigo collection is full of so many unique outfits.oshkosh-back-to-school-outfit-02

We’ve never had an flannel in her wardrobe before and honestly I didn’t think she would want it – but she did and it’s super cute! Yeehaw says Lennox! oshkosh-back-to-school-outfit-03 oshkosh-back-to-school-outfit-04As we go down, we get more and more casual. This is great cool fall day outfit! oshkosh-back-to-school-outfit-05And if it warms up, like it most likely will in our crazy Texas weather – there is a matching tank top under her hoodie!

Also – mornings can be so hectic on a school day, so to help you get going this fall and hopefully get the morning routine down pat, here is a quick checklist you could print out and have your little one fill out each day!

Last Few Months of Montessori

Yesterday should have been Lennox’s first day at public kindergarten but we are in the (crazy) process of getting our house on the market and eventually moving. Since we’ll be moving to a different town we decided to leave Lennox in her Montessori school for a few more months. She spends so much time there and her little world is going to change so much, that keeping something constantly the same (school), was a good idea that my dad came up with. Thanks Dad!

So yesterday, even though she goes to Montessori year round, was an exciting day for Lennox. Her teacher from last year (who has been on Maternity leave since February), was back and Lennox could not wait to get to school and see her! This year she is the big kid in class, and gets to be a class leader to help out the littles.

We saved the traditional back to school photos for when she starts public kindergarten later this year, but I just had to snap a few pictures before she headed out the door – as she looked extra cute and excited!

Here’s to a great few last months of Montessori where she can “stretch her mind” (as her teacher says), and learn so much! Soak in the goodness Lennox, we sure will miss Montessori once we leave!

Lennox will be starting Kindergarten this year, which I can’t even believe, but it’s the truth and we are getting ready for it! Her new backpack and lunch box is purchased, we have started her back to school clothing shopping and now it’s time to get a work area together for her at home. Although there isn’t a ton of take home work in Kindergarten, I know there will be some – and I wanted to create excitement around going to school. So the other weekend I surprised Lennox with a homework corner in our home office room!

With a move in or near future, I didn’t want to create something that would damage the wall and require hooks and nails, so I went to Walmart and purchased some Command™ hooks and Scotch® Brand items in the Craft aisle.

These are so easy to use and will really stay up on the wall, even our textured walls. I always have a variety of sizes at home but purchased some clear hooks as well as a clear caddy to use of this project. If you haven’t tried these, they are great at Christmas time too.

What you will need:

  • Command™ Damage Free Hanging Hooks, Adhesive Strips and Caddy
  • School supplies (Pens, Pencils, Markers, Crayons, Ruler, etc)
  • Small Clipboard or Sign
  • ABC Stickers
  • Small Clothespins
  • Small Metal Buckets or containers
  • Desk or Small Table

STEP ONE: Gather all your supplies and figure out your layout before starting. Don’t worry if you measure something wrong or make a mistake, since these are just stuck to the wall, it’s easy to remove them and place them somewhere else without leaving any damage behind!

STEP TWO: Start by hanging your 3 – 4 metal buckets. I found these back to school themed buckets in the Dollar Spot and they were just the right size and theme, and only a $1!

I used Command™ Clear hooks that had moving hooks on them – perfect for hanging something that isn’t flat.

STEP THREE: Once you have hung the buckets, it’s time to hang the clear caddy. This is great to add a ruler, paint and paper to. I centered it below the buckets. This caddy came with its own Command™ adhesive strips with a refill so you can move it later if needed.

STEP FOUR: I decorated the little black clipboard with ABC stickers to make a personalized sign – “Lennox’s Homework Corner”. I then stuck it to the wall using the Command™ adhesive strips as well.

STEP FIVE: I wanted to add a few places for Lennox to add her artwork and homework. I decided to use mini clothespins and stick them to the wall by cutting the Command™ adhesive strips in half. Lennox has been using them quite a bit and they have stayed on the wall well!

scotch-homework-center-03 Lennox loved her new homework corner and is almost ready for Kindergarten! We are still waiting to hear on which school she will be attending but I’m anxious to hear and ready to get the final things ready for her – it will be a big day for all of us! At least now we know she will have a dedicated spot to do her work and can feel like a big girl!

You can find lots of great projects to do with Command™ products here, as well.
