Yup, Did That – Lennox’s Summer Bucket List Update

About a month ago I wrote a bucket list for the summer. It was a bucket list for Lennox not myself – although everything on the list are things that we will do together. They were all things I enjoyed doing as a kid, so I wanted her to start experiencing them all as well!

With the summer almost half done, we have made some good progress and had lots of fun along the way!

Roast Marshmallow’s and make S’mores! - CHECK! We did this while on our Frio trip. Lennox was interested in roasting the marshmallow but didn’t really want to eat it or the S’mores. I’m not convinced she didn’t like it though, she likes marshmallows. But during the trip, she wouldn’t eat much of anything. Maybe we’ll try again sometime soon!

See Fireworks - CHECK! We took Lennox to the fireworks on the 4th of July. She seemed to love them and asked about them for a few days after the fact. That’s my girl! Just like her mom and grandma, loves fireworks!

Experience the fun of Sparklers - CHECK! We bought some sparklers for the 4th of July, but ended up using them at the Frio. I found this neat idea on Pinterest; sticking the sparkler through a solo cup so that the sparklers don’t hurt her little hand — it worked great, although she still wasn’t so sure about holding it. She liked watching them though.

Learn to ride a tricycle - almost CHECK! Lennox is quickly learning to ride her tricycle. She does great going backwards (random?) and tries her hardest to go forward, if you give her a little nudge, off she will go! Like the big helmet (hand me down), headband/sweat band look? I sure do!

So we still have a few things to do, but almost all should be completed by the end of the summer – Fun times are ahead!

Family Fireworks Night

As I mentioned in my other 4th of July Post, we went to the Grapevine Fireworks after our cookout. Lennox had a blast spending time with family and I wanted to post some of my favorite pictures from the night!

Lennox is a BIG fan of Uncle Kollin..

“Look Guys, There is an Airplane!” She was pointing them out all night. Even when the fireworks were going on!

Aunt Sissy is pretty awesome too!

We head out in the morning for our family trip to the Frio so this was just a warm up for spending lots of time with family. It is going to be a lot of fun and I think Lennox will have a blast! More family pictures to come soon, i’m sure! Happy Weekend to everyone!

Happy Birthday America!

Well, another 4th of July celebration has come and gone. In a way I miss my old childhood traditions of going to the 4th of July parade in town and then to the beach for fireworks — all those just don’t seem the same here, but it is fun to start new traditions with Lennox and Kyle’s family! I had planned on taking Lennox to a 4th of July parade, but it just didn’t happen this year. Instead we spent the morning in our PJs and watching cartoons.

During nap time I made these yummy strawberries I found on pinterest. I had a little drama with melting the chocolate (it shouldnt be that hard, but for some reason it was!) and they came out looking cute:

After nap time, we headed over to Mimi’s house (Kyle’s Mom) for a cookout with the family. Lennox has started to really warm up to everyone fast, which is fun to watch. She acts like such a big girl most of the time!

After dinner, we packed everything up and headed out to the Grapevine Fireworks at Lake Grapevine, TX. We got to sit right up front of where they set the fireworks off. We had a good time hanging out before they started (2 1/2 hours worth) then it was time for the show! It isn’t a fireworks show without glow in the dark jewelery!

I wasn’t sure what to expect from Lennox. She actually didn’t say anything most of the time, but when it was over she asked if they had gone home and if the fireworks were “all gone”. Yes, yes they were, but she told me this morning she liked them – so, looks like we have a firework fan!

I have more fun pictures of Lennox with family, but I have to get them off my camera.. will post them soon! Until then, Happy Birthday America!
