So the Big Game is only a week away now and I have two more football recipes to share with you! (Check back later today for the last one!) Our Dallas team may be out of the game but my favorite New England team is in it, Deflate-Gate or not, and I’m ready to cheer them on. Having good food is a must during the Big Game watch party, so I tried making Mint OREO Cookie Balls for the first time this weekend in preparation!

I have never made OREO Cookie Balls before but I had always heard how easy they were – and everyone was right! Easy, delicious and great to make ahead of time! There are many ways you can make OREO Cookie Balls; various flavors, colors and decorations. I decided to keep it simple by dipping them in Dark Chocolate and drizzling them with my favorite team’s colors! Here is how you can make them too!

What you will need:

  • 1 pkg (8 oz.) brick cream cheese, softened
  • 1 pkg Mint OREO Cookies, Crushed
  • 4 pkg. (4 oz. each) semi-sweet baking chocolate, melted
  • Decorations or Colored Melting Chocolate, optional

  1. MIX cream cheese and cookie crumbs until blended.
  2. SHAPE into 48 (1-inch) balls. Freeze 10 min.
  3. Dip balls in melted chocolate; place in single layer in shallow waxed paper-lined pan.
  4. Melt your desired colored melting chocolate discs and drizzle over OREO Cookie Balls.
  5. REFRIGERATE 1 hour or until firm.

These are super easy to make and you can find all the ingredients you need at your local Walmart like I did.

IMG_7955I did find that I didn’t have enough OREOS in the package I purchased, so the mixture was a little softer than ideal. To fix this issue, I just put the OREO cookie balls in the freezer for 10-15 minutes prior to dipping them in the chocolate. This let me re-shape them before dipping and then they came out great! Enjoy!

Alright, as I promised earlier today, here is my very last football inspired post and recipe! If after reading all of these football posts, you are not hungry or have no desire to watch the Big Game, then something must be wrong with you!! Ok ok, just kidding! Anyway – this weekend I tried out one last football snack, easy Deli Wings (General Tso’s Wings to be exact) from the Walmart Deli as well as making a family favorite of ours, 5-Minute Cheesy Corn Dip!

First, the Cheesy Corn Dip. This is by far the best corn dip I have ever had, and I think you are going to agree. It takes no time at all to make and the earlier you can make it and let it chill, the better it tastes, so its great to make ahead of time for a party or event! Here is how to make it!

5 Minute Cheesy Corn Dip Recipe

Cheesy Corn Dip

  • 1 Cup Sour Cream
  • 2/3 Cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 Cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 Cup Chopped Green Onions (including greens)
  • 1 Can Mexicorn, Drained
  • Butter Crackers

How to make:

  1. Drain 1 can of Mexicorn and pour into a medium size bowl. Mexicorn can sometimes be hard to find but I usually have luck finding it at Walmart. It will be with the other canned corn and is made by Green Giant.
  2. Add in 1 cup of sour cream, 2/3 cup mayonnaise, 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese and 1 cup of chopped green onions.
  3. Mix together until completed mixed together.
  4. Cover and chill for up to 48 hours prior to serving. The longer you can let this sit, the better the flavor is!
  5. Serve with butter crackers or Frito scoops and enjoy!

I promise that if you have a group of people over, this will be a crowd-pleaser!

The other football snack food that I tried this weekend were the hot & ready Deli Wings from Walmart.

IMG_7916Walmart has a wide range of chicken available in their Deli, from Buffalo Wings, Boneless BBQ Wings to General Tso’s Wings, there is something for everyone. We picked up some General Tso’s Wings to bring home for the whole family.

They were quite the hit with Lennox too! If you are looking for something to pick up, and no make at home, for your Big Game watching party – I would highly suggest these!

Have you tried Walmart Deli Wings yet?

Let’s keep the football theme going this week! The countdown is on to the Big Game and our favorite Dallas boys are out of the running but New England still has a team with a chance, so we’ll cheer them on next weekend! Last weekend I shared some sweet and salty football snacks and today I’m sharing with you some great finger foods and apps to have while watching the game – whether is just with the family or with friends! Everything I’m sharing with you is easy and uses everyday, traditional football watching snacks

First up, let’s talk cheese and crackers! I love some good cheese and crackers – whether it’s for a snack or even part of a meal. It’s easy to prep when you are in a rush, but if you have a little more time – try out these football cheese and cracker snacks using Ritz Crackers!

How to Make Football Cheese and Crackers

Football Cheese and Crackers

  • Ritz Crackers (I found Football themed ones which worked out even better!)
  • Your Favorite Cheese (I used a mild cheddar)
  • Pepperoni slices
  • Ranch Dressing

How to make:

  1. First we need to cut the pepperoni slices and cheese slices into football shapes. The best way to do this I found is to cut the pepperoni first and then use it to shape the cheese. This part takes a little time but could be prepped ahead of time.
  2. Once you have all the pepperoni and cheese footballs ready, lay the Ritz Crackers out on a platter or cutting board to start assembling.
  3. For each Ritz cracker, add 1-2 pepperoni football slices.
  4. Then, place a cheese football on top of each pepperoni slice. They don’t have to be perfect looking – the next step will round it all out!
  5. Now, take some ranch dressing and pour some into a ziplock bag. You don’t need too much – maybe 2-3 tablespoons.
  6. Cut a very small sliver off the end one corner of the bag and use it as a piping bag.
  7. You can now use the ranch to draw laces onto the cheese to turn them into footballs!

  8. Arrange them on a platter or football dish, as I did and they are ready to serve!

Cute and easy right? They were a big hit at my house this past weekend!

Snack Size Pizza Bites

Now we move onto Pizza! Pizza in my mind is one of the essential foods for watching football. The only other meal that comes to mind is chicken wings – which you should check back in another week or so for some tasty recipes using chicken wings! Anyway, back to Pizza.

I picked up a frozen DiGiorno® Pepperoni Stuffed Crust® Pizza at Walmart this weekend and it was so easy and tasty. The pizza was so good and it is easy to cook and serve.

You can serve it the traditional way to adults and then cut it into small snack size pieces for kids. But if you cut into small size snacks for kids or even for as an appetizer – I recommend using a pizza slicer and putting a football themed toothpick in each one! This takes something so simple as Pizza and makes it “football party ready”!

Football Mason Jar Cups

Lastly, we all need a cold refreshing drink to watch the big game with – and while you are watching the big game in a few weeks – you know you will see some classic commercials, one of which is usually Coca-Cola! I decided to serve our Coca-Cola in a different way though – how about some Football Mason Jar glasses? DIY Football Mugs, Mason Jar Mugs, Football Mason Jar Cups, DIY Football CupsThis craft seriously only took 2-3 minutes to make and cost me under $1.50 each. I found the Mason Jars (with handle) at the Dollar Store, cut out football laces using my Silhouette (you could paint them on with white paint or cut it out of white sticker paper) and poured in some nice ice-cold Coca-Cola!

So now that you have all your Ritz Football Cheese & Crackers, DiGiorno® Pizza and Ice Cold Coca-Cola, you are ready for the Big Game. Sit back, relax and enjoy cheering on your favorite team!
