Toy Gift Guide - Roominate Studio Giveaway

Christmas Gift Idea: Roominate Studio Building Set + Giveaway

Today I’m sharing with you another great and unique toy to add to your Christmas shopping list; Roominate! Roominate was named the #1 toy of 2014 by TIME Magazine and reminds me in a way of GoldieBlox that I shared the other week – but in its own way, it’s different.

Roominate, again created by 2 female engineers who wanted to inspire young girls to be excited about engineering and eager to learn more! I love Roominate from the get go because I connected with their thought process and education experiences. I, too, was in a program where it was mostly males and being the only female in a program can have its challenges, but I loved when i saw new females entering the program!

Roominate Studio Building Set

Roominate has a variety of building sets, each that teach:

  • Hands-On Problem Solving
  • Fine Motor Skills
  • Self-Confidence
  • Creativity
  • Basic Circuitry

Roommate blends together the concepts of building, design, crafts, storytelling and creativity to create, in a way, your own dollhouse. What makes this different from other building sets? Well, with a little motor and light circuit building, you can create moving parts such as an elevator, fan, etc.

We received the Roominate Studio, which includes 70-pieces (4 wall/floor panels, 24 furniture building pieces, 16 connectors, a motor, switch, battery pack, screwdriver, doll, pet, and 20 sheets of craft paper.)

I think this is a great gift idea for any little girl (boys too!) that want to create and explore more than just building blocks. I love how there are some new toys, such as Roominate, that will really inspire a new generation of children!

Lucky for one of you, I am giving away the Roominate Studio building set! Use the rafflecopter widget below to enter and win. Giveaway open to 18+, US residents and is open until December 20th.

12 Days of Christmas: Light Up Flutterbye Fairies

Here we are on Day 12 of my 12 Days of Christmas Toys – A Gift Guide for Kids series. I hope that I have been able to help everyone get some ideas for Christmas this year, as well as give away some great prizes to help you get a head start on the shopping! Today I am sharing a toy that Lennox has been asking for ever since last Christmas, but with a new twist; The Deluxe Light Up Flutterbye Fairies!

Christmas Gift Guide: Flutterbye Light Up Fairies

The Flutterbye Fairy is a toy that can really fly and land on you hand! Now it can even light up the room! Here is a little about the fairy itself:

Flutterbye Fairies can really fly and now they even light up the sky! The magic is brighter than ever before with rainbow lights that shine as she soars. Just give your Flutterbye a gentle whirl to see rainbow lights and skirts that twirl! By pressing the button on her decorative base, she will magically lift off into fairy flight. Guide her movement as she floats just inches over the palm of your hand. If you raise your hand gently, she will fly higher. Lower your hand and she will follow your lead. Your Flutterbye Fairy’s beautiful dress is surrounded by a colorful aura of rainbow light.

flutterbye-fairy The Light Up Rainbow Fairy “rests” in between flights on her charging base, so no need to keep changing her batteries after playtime. The base is really easy to connect the Fairy to as well. Just place her into the hole on the stand and put the plug into her back. She charges up and is ready to go again.

The other accessory that can go with your Flutterbye Fairy is the Surprise Butterfly Diary. The Surprise Butterfly Diary is perfect for the girl with an imagination. When you open the diary, you are greeting with a delicate butterfly that starts to fly across the room! The diary also has a top-secret compartment, where there is a little journal where kids can draw, make wishes, write or anything else they wish to do! This toy is made for children 5+ and is available at most toy retailers this Christmas season.
