Decorating a home office space can be challenging. Offices are usually full of dull paperwork, utilitarian tools and electronics. The sterile decor can prevent you from being productive because the space is so uninviting that you find yourself avoiding it. Determining the right amount of gold to add to your space and how to add it can be tricky, but incorporating a luxurious metallic color like gold into your home office decor will lift your spirits and give your office space the warmth it needs.

Desk Accessories

You can choose from a variety of gold colored desk accessories. From staplers to paperclips, incorporating the kingly color even in small splashes will make a huge difference. Choose a pair of vintage gold handled scissors to make a statement visitors are sure to notice. This classic style is best known for use by seamstresses and will bring a chic vintage element to your office space. This decorative pair of sheers from Rad And Hungry are especially beautiful.

Mason Jar Valentine's Day Centerpiece

Valentine’s Day Mason Jar Centerpieces

My goal so far this year, and throughout the rest of the year is to get our house decorated more. All rooms and parts of the house! So part of that is getting the kitchen table (since we have no dining room) set nicely on a daily basis. I have decided to use Mason Jars on a table runner for the centerpieces. For Christmas I had Cranberry centerpieces – so when it was time for Christmas to be put away, we moved on to Valentine’s Day. This is a super easy and cheap Valentine’s Day Centerpiece – and kid’s love it too!

What you will need (for 5 mason jars)

  • 2 Bags of Conversation Hearts
  • 5 Candles (white, pink/red)
  • 5 Mason Jars

valentines-day-centerpiecesI was able to get the mason jars for super cheap as well. Check out your local hobby or craft store. I got ours at Hobby Lobby when they were on sale for 50% off (every few weeks this sale happens) and they were only $1 or $1.50 each – super cheap!

Easy Mason Jar Centerpiece for Valentine's DayGrab some Conversation Hearts and a few candles and that is all you will need. I let Lennox pour in all the conversation hearts (and eat some too of course), about 2/3rd full in each mason jar. Then I stuck the candles in the middle! That’s it, it’s so fast and easy. You could add some valentine’s ribbon to the jars or burlap bows even – whatever your style and decor includes!

What is your favorite use for a mason jar? I will share all the other holidays / seasons as they come up this year!
