It’s JBF Fort Worth Time Again + Giveaway!

It’s that time of year again, time for consignment sales! The largest consignment sale in Texas is only a few weeks away and I want you to head to Fort Worth and shop your little heart out with me! If you have followed my blog for any time, you know how much I love Just Between Friends Fort Worth. If you are new, welcome, and get ready to get excited about shopping for your children!
Just Between Friends Fort Worth

Just Between Friends Fort Worth is the largest consignment sale in Texas because it is 75,000 square feet of children & maternity items! That’s right, 75,000 sq feet! That is HUGE! Here is an idea of how big and how many items they really have:

JBF-FortWorth299777_10151491384034243_446842047_n You can find almost anything for children ranging from maternity to newborns, toddlers, young children and even tweens! Strollers, Toys & Clothes, oh my!

I believe this will be my 7th time shopping JBF and I am really looking forward to it. I buy almost all of Lennox’s clothing at Just Between Friends. The fall sale is my favorite because I can find all her holiday themed clothing; from Halloween themed clothing, Halloween costumes, Thanksgiving dress, to Christmas dresses! I am also able to find Christmas presents, school uniforms, shoes and dress up clothes. You can find some of my past deals here and here!

So if this all looks good to you and you are in the Dallas / Fort Worth area, make sure you head to Will Rogers Memorial Center – Amon G. Carter Exhibit Hall! The sale is open to the public Saturday, August 30, 2014 – Saturday, September 6, 2014 – Check the Full schedule for presale and volunteer shopping times. Volunteering is the best way to shop earlier than the public and find even better deals! If you are a first time parent (expecting or have a child under 12 months of age), make sure you sign up for the first time parent presale! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a comment – I love talking about JBF and sharing all my tips and tricks!

First the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Now This!

A few weeks ago, Kyle and I took the day off to head to Dallas bright and early to pick up our Conan tickets! Conan headed to Dallas for a week of shows and we were lucky enough to be picked from the ticket lottery! The process to get tickets was a little strange, you had to sign up for the lottery, you get chosen but you are not given an actual ticket / seat. You then have to show up in the morning (we showed up an hour early and there was a line around the building) and then tickets are first come first served (with the lottery confirmation).

Thankfully, we got “yellow” which meant we were on the lower level and ended up only being about 10 rows from the stage, and right in the middle. Our seats were great! There were a group of people there at 2AM (we got there at 8AM) and they were only 5 rows in front of us. So not worth going at 2AM!

Anyway, once we got our tickets we headed around Dallas for the morning together and eventually ended up in the ConeZone at Main Street Garden Park.

It was fun to be involved in all the excitement that was “Conan Does Dallas”. They had a number of contests, activities and events going on throughout the city and almost every ad spot around the city was turned orange and had a big ol’ Conan on it!

Once it was time for the show, it was pretty awesome to see how they did it all behind the scenes! Even though it is not a live show, it is taped as if it was. We had the 3 minute commercial breaks and they rushed around like crazy people setting up the stage for the next segment. The crowd was so excited and although we didn’t have the best guests of the week (Charles Barkley & Lyle Lovett) – it ended up being a blast!

If you ever get a chance to go to a taping of Conan, you really should check it out! I would LOVE to go see Jimmy Fallon!

delaney-vineyards-grapevine-chocolate-fest-2014When you arrive, you are given a souvenir wine glass, 2 drinks tickets and a box to put any extra chocolates in (who is kidding though? Eat all the chocolate there!)

Grapevine ChocolateFest 2014 at Delaney Vineyards and Winery in Grapevine TXThis is a great event for couples, a girls night or even just a mingling event. They serve extremely yummy heavy hors d’oeurves, chocolate and wine. Does it get much better than that? You go around table to table and learn about the different chocolatiers in the area and try samples. All while listening to some great live music!

toffee-grapevine-chocolate-fest-2014There are a number of places there such as hotels (Grand Hyatt DFW), restaurants (Brio), and candy shops. Check out these delicious mini desserts from Brio Southlake.

brio-desserts-grapevine-chocolate-fest-2014They also have a silent auction, to help benefit a great cause each year. The auction items ranged from travel tickets, to gift baskets and autographed pictures. They had some astronaut autographs, musicians and even TV stars. There were lots of fun items, just a little out of my price range unfortunately!

If you are in the grapevine area this weekend, make sure to check out their other event or plan to attend next year – you won’t be disappointed!
