A Memory from Paris

When we were planning our trip to Europe, and Paris in particular, I had reached out on Facebook asking if anyone had any recommendations of something we should do while we were there. One of my friends suggested hiring Stacy Reeves from L’Amour de Paris to take some photos of Kyle and I. I wasn’t sure at first, I looked at the pricing, timing and everything else and still was unsure. I started to follow Stacy on Instagram and instantly fell in love with her photos. They were picture perfect – like on the cover of a bridal magazine perfect. So finally, I made the leap and hired Stacy to capture a few moments of our trip to Paris and I don’t regret doing it at ALL! It was the best thing we paid for while on vacation. So since a picture is worth a thousand words – I won’t explain anymore – instead I’ll just share with you a handful of my favorites from our TWENTY MINUTE session (yes, she is that good!).

So what do you think? I’m so happy with them and I can not wait to get a few of them up on our walls. Now to just pick which ones! If you are planning on traveling to Paris and want  to capture some similar pictures, you really have to check out Stacy and L’Amour de Paris. You won’t be disappointed.

Europe Bound!

The time has finally come!! Our Europe vacation starts TODAY!!

We will be traveling for just under 2 weeks. We will miss our little princess, Lennox, so very much – but we are also very excited to have a mommy/daddy break and go experience all that we can while on vacation! Lennox will be having lots of fun at home with Grandma & Papa and the hardest part is that we won’t get to talk with her – but I know we’ll get plenty of updates along the way!

We are visiting Venice, one of my top destinations ever(!), Paris (also close to the top of my list) and the top of Kyle’s list, London!

I think Venice is going to be one of the most unique places we have ever traveled and will travel.

There is no where else in the world that is like Venice. I can’t wait to see the sun hit the colorful buildings, the gondolas going by, watch the way the people of Venice live! The best quote I have read about Venice, was that if you don’t get lost – you haven’t experienced Venice! I look forward to getting lost!

Paris! The city of lights. The architecture, the landmarks, the style, the food – everything about Paris sounds exciting to me.

We honestly don’t know the majority of what Paris has to offer – but we are going to be experiencing it all! I’m looking forward to seeing and feeling what it’s like to be staying in Paris. We decided to forgo a hotel in Paris and get a flat, in the heart of the city (close to the Louvre). We are staying on one of the oldest streets in Paris in a small studio flat. We’ll be across the street from a fresh fruit market, a bakery and an old Louis XIV royal fountain! We’ll see what one of the most romantic cities in the world has to offer us!

London – My favorite place I have ever been! I was lucky enough to visit London and the UK 3 times as a teenager with my parents.

I don’t know what it is about London but I just love it. The big city, the people, the sights, the sounds (read: the accents) and just the ease of the city! I look forward to bringing Kyle to the Tower of London – one of the best spots in London and walking down the bustling Portobello Road Market in Nottinghill on Saturday morning!

While I’m gone….

While I’m gone – make sure to pay attention to my Facebook Page, as I will be sharing a bunch of travel related posts, as well as some fun posts from a few of my blogger buddies!

When I can (at night in the hotel most likely) I’m sure I’ll be sharing a few photos from the day on Instagram – so follow me there as well! I’ll be trying to remember to use #TerrellsTravel on all my photos I share. Here is the latest stream:

Once we are back in the US – expect lots of great photos, memories and stories about our trip!

In just over a week we are heading off to Europe for our big vacation. We are looking forward to having some time to travel on our own and experience everything Venice, Paris and London has to offer! I’m excited for every part of our trip but we have something special planned in Paris! We hired a professional photographer, to take our photos near the Eiffel Tower!

The photographer is actually from Texas but is currently living in Paris and running her photography business. When I saw just a handful of her photos, I was instantly sold. Her photos are amazingly beautiful and I just hope that our photos come out well too!

We have decided, in true Paris style, to get new outfits, be fancy and try to make these photos the best ones we have ever had taken!  In order to do this, there were a few things that had to happen first!

Find a PhotographerCHECK! We found the photographer right away. Actually, it was someones referral that got us even thinking about having our photos taken. As soon as I saw the photos and how great they could look, we were sold. I think it will be well worth the splurge and it will capture a memory for us forever.

Find the Perfect OutfitCHECK! This one was a little tricky for me. I’m not someone who wears dresses that often – really only for special events. Since we were going to be in Paris after all, I decided to look for inspiration through other photos and by as “fancy” as I could without being over the top. It may not be the traditional Heather but I’m hoping that it will capture the essence of Paris!

Pick out JewelryCHECK! Finding the perfect necklace, bracelet or even earrings to compliment your outfit and the setting is key. Jewelry doesn’t have to be expensive – there are many places to check that have fashionable jewelry that won’t break the bank. I found a great gold heart necklace – that in a way reminds me of Moulin Rouge and it was only $10 at Charming Charlies!

Perfect that SmileCHECK! Do you want to make sure you have the best looking smile you can? I know I do. I take care of my teeth – but they still aren’t as white as I would love. So when I started looking for an affordable and FAST way to whiten my smile with only a short time before our trip, I was pleasantly surprised to find a new product; Colgate® Optic White® Express White Toothpaste.

After reading the packaging and looking at the display at my local Walmart, I found that this toothpaste will whiten your teeth in just 3 days – and all you have to do is brush your teeth with it – no applicator or hassle! I was instantly sold! I started brushing right away and after 3 days, I do see a difference! I will continue brushing before and during our vacation to make sure that my smile is as bright and white as it can be!

Colgate Optic White Express White Toothpaste

Colgate® Optic White® Express toothpaste has 2 times more of the professionally recommended whitening ingredient than other Colgate Whitening toothpaste and if you head to your local Walmart on February 28, 2015 – there is a good chance that there will be a product demo as well as coupons available. For a full list of stores, check here. This is a great way to try out the product and see for your self how great it is!

Be Prepared for Anything!CHECK! Well, there really is no way of knowing what could come up – but we can prepare for cold weather, rain, sun, etc. Making sure that we pack the right clothing and travel accessories is important! Don’t forget your Umbrella in Paris!

So that’s it! We are pretty much ready to go and I can’t wait to share with you the final photos once we return! I hope they come out as good as I hope they will. Either way, they will hold memories that will last a lifetime – our first trip to Europe together!

What do you do to prepare for professional photos?
