Are you ready for the zombie apocalypse? Okay, so there’s probably a 0.1 % chance that zombies will be taking over the world, but it’s a good idea to be ready just in case. There could be some other catastrophe that might hit humanity.

So just how ready are you in case a disaster strikes? To be fully prepared for zombies, alien invasion, or some other doomsday scenario, you need to have the right outdoor gear.

Outdoor Essentials for Surviving Doomsday

Here are some of the things that you need to prepare for any catastrophe:

Hydration Pack and Water Filter

This is the most important thing of all. You can have all the gear in the world, but if you don’t have drinking water, then you’re not going to last very long out there. The hydration pack can keep you going for a while. Just make sure that you have one of those portable water filters that can clean up dirty water and make it drinkable.

Food

Next to water, food is going to be the most crucial thing that you have to prepare. MREs from the military are the best choice, but energy food such as energy bars that are easy to carry are also excellent choices.

Paracord Rope

You’re going to need a rope to tie and pull things. It can be used for a lot of things, and a paracord rope is the best option because it is lighter and a lot tougher than regular cables.

Survival Knife

Now, you’re also going to need a proper survival knife when you’re trying to escape from the zombies. Based on what we’ve seen on TV shows and movies, knives can kill those zombies again. But on top of being used for killing those walking corpses, you can use your knife for all kinds of cutting and hacking tasks.

Flashlight

You’re going to need an excellent flashlight that can last for a long time. With a powerful flashlight, you can still move around even when it is dark.

First Aid Kit

If you’re not used to being in the outdoors, you’re likely to get injured when you’re out there. That’s why you need a good first aid kit with plenty of supplies for treating wounds. Now, if you got bit by a zombie, a bandaid is not going to do you any good, but if it’s just a small scratch, then you should treat it.

Radio

You need a radio so that you can listen to broadcasts of other survivors where there are safe spaces that you can go to.

Compass

You need a compass so you can tell the direction where you need to head. Now, if you don’t know how to use a compass, you’re in a lot of trouble. 

In the end, these are just some of the outdoor tools that you need to face that impending zombie apocalypse that Hollywood has been warning us about. Though it might not happen, it doesn’t hurt for you to be ready.
